By car: You can reach the coast of Maratea and the Noce Valley by following the directions below:

North – A2 Mediterranean Highway. The best way to reach comfortably almost every urban center of the area is by taking the Northern Exit of Lagonegro (Lagonegro Nord). Then you should take the SS585 Road that crosses the whole Valley up to the sea. On the SS585 Road there are three ways to reach the coast of Maratea: 1 - after 11km, take the exit with the indications EX-SS104 Sapri-Northern Maratea. This will allow you to reach the SS18 Road and the hamlets and beaches of Acquafredda (26km) and Cersuta

(30km); 2 - after 17km, take the exit on the SP3 Road for Trecchina (4km), Maratea (15km) and the beaches

and hamlets of Fiumicello (20km) and Port (21 km); 3 - after 34km take the exit on the SS18 Road to reach the beaches and hamlets of Castrocucco (1km) and Marina (4km). If you want to reach the Northern Coast of Maratea (particularly the hamlets of Acquadredda and Cersuta) it might be easier (less curves) in terms of distance, to get away from the A2 Highway in Padula-Buonabitacolo and follow the indications Policastro-Sapri, by driving on the SS517 Road and the SS18 Road.

East - SS106 lonica Road and SS653 Fondovalle Sinni Road up to the intersection with the A2 Highway, in

a place called Cavallo di Lauria. From here it is advisable to take the highway following the Salerno direction and then get away at Northern Lagonegro (see above).

South - A3 Salerno-Reggio Calabria Highway up to the exit of Northern Lagonegro, following then the indications of the previous points. To reach the vast territory of Lauria, you should take the exits Northern Lauria and Southern Lauria (Lauria Nord and Lauria Sud). In many cases, it can be convenient to leave the A2 Highway in Falerna and take the SS18 Road up to Castrocucco: From here you can choose to drive along the Coast of Maratea, always on the SS18 Road, or drive through the Noce Valley on the SS585 Road.
